An Interview with Linnea Kikuchi (AKA Feefal)

Feefal

Hi everyone! My name is Linnea Kikuchi, although here on the internet I'm more commonly known as Feefal.

I’m an illustrator from Sweden, and I have a passion for creating artwork that is rich in dreamlike elements, and combines feminine characteristics with a darker, more gritty edge. Another huge interest of mine is creating character designs based around everyday objects – whether it be a lamp, or a mushroom, or a telephone…!

"The lady who draws a lot of mushrooms" AKA Feefal, sits down with 3dtotal interviewer Neddy to chat about her latest collaboration with 3dtotal on Inspired by Nature: A guide to designing botanical characters. She enthuses about seeing how different artists approach design, how difficult she found it to break down her own creative process and show her initial sketches, but how helpful all this could be for anyone struggling to come up with ideas. "You gotta have a few bad ideas before you have a really good one!" Linnea also looks back on her artistic journey and how she finally found friends online in the community she once found inspiration in, and now inspires.
