Easy and simple book to help in your creative process

I bought this book as a 'training' manual to help me develop my skills in photoshop. It's easy enough to follow the instructions given, helpful tips and seeing how professional artists work was amazing. The only advice I would give is to buy the ' The Beginner's guide to Photoshop' just to get used to the lingo used and to become familiar with the tools.

Great introduction

This is a great introduction to the world of digital painting and 2D character design. It does a very good job of progressing from the very simple to the very complex. Wherever your skill-level currently is, you should get a good amount of benefit from this book. From designing a very simple character to the very thorough, thoughtful process demonstrated by Derek Stenning, this is a great start for anyone looking to get their feet wet or improve their existing 2D character design chops. Highly recommended.

Perfect for begginers, valuable for intermediate.

I totally recommend this book to anyone who is new to the Photoshop world and has an ambition to create new characters. Nicely written - step by step - with a lot of usefull tips for anyone who is looking for a clear instructions. It gives you a freedom to create on your own, on the other hand you have all the knowledge you need to have. Great illustrations, wide range of styles. Even if you are a intermediate user it gives you deeper information about your process, different techniques and approach to your art. Helpful in so many ways. :) I am greatful I found it! Thanks.
