Simone Grünewald, also known as “Schmoe,” is a passionate illustrator and well-known art director, character designer, 2D animator, and key art storyboarder working in the games industry. She has a desire to create emotive designs that document her life, including the experiences of motherhood, in addition to her commercial work. Having followed the creative path all of her life, Simone has a wealth of knowledge in both traditional and digital art and shares her insights with her global audience via increasingly popular social media accounts. Simone is also the author of Sketch Every Day (3dtotal Publishing)

    This book and her second book are full of beautiful art and amazing easy to follow instruction and insights. Her books are essential for all artists of all levels and ages. This is in my top favorite books I own.

    Really helpful and fresh

    I love Simones style, which made me purchase this book.Being a beginner myself, I dont think this would be a book that helps a beginner on learning to draw from 0 experience and not developed skills.I feel it would rather be more useful to someone that already have knowledge or expertise.On the other hand, is written in a fresh and light manner, which makes it easily understandable.Its full of tips and tricks explaining Simones art and how to deal with illustrations in certain situations, and there are tons of Simones sketches.If you are looking for a deep explanation on how to draw, this would not be the book for you.Otherwise I think its really worth the money and I would definitely buy it again.

    Absolutely worth it!

    I really loved how the book started out with really fun and simple principles and exercises and then slowly built up on that- I spent quite a few hours with it during this pandemic, to polish my drawing skills, and it helped me a lot.
