3dtotal is delighted to champion the fantastic Leeds-based arts charity, Pyramid, who support adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to discover the arts and develop their own artistic practice. Pyramid supports over 140 members to access the arts through weekly groups and 1:1 support sessions. They help members learn new skills, improve their health and wellbeing and make friends for life! They are one of the few organisations in the UK who provide arts activities for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
Pyramid’s work makes a huge difference to the lives of their members. People with learning disabilities and autism are one of the most vulnerable groups in our society, facing stark health inequalities and financial challenges. They frequently struggle to access the arts through traditional galleries and venues and can find community art groups inaccessible. Pyramid projects are carefully designed to ensure members get the support they need to enjoy the arts. They also ensure members have autonomy and creative freedom; gain satisfaction from learning new skills; and have opportunities to socialise with peers. Some members are keen to develop as artists and to sell their work; and Pyramid gives them bespoke support to be able to do this.
Wherever possible, Pyramid aims to provide their members with the best quality art books and materials, but this can be difficult in a financially challenging climate. Members were absolutely thrilled to receive a donation of books from 3dtotal, including some beautiful reference books and useful step by step drawing guides.

Pyramid has been supporting their members to make artwork for over thirty years with a team of incredible freelance arts facilitators and dedicated volunteers who help members experiment with a variety of techniques and produce work on a large scale. Pyramid regularly hosts inclusive events and exhibitions in galleries and community art spaces throughout West Yorkshire. These give members opportunities to be proud of their work and to show the wider community the amazing things adults with learning disabilities and autism are capable of. Pyramid also has an online shop and organises accessible art markets where members can interact with the public and sell their work alongside nondisabled artists.
