To celebrate 25 years of 3dtotal and show our support to a community we love, we wanted to make something that pushed back against AI, showcasing real art by real people in the best way possible, while also creating a true collector’s item.

Our ambition is to make every issue feel like a collector's item, designed to increase in value over time. Each copy will be numbered and feature multiple paper types and special finishes - embossing, debossing, cut-outs, removable add-ons – if you can imagine it, then you should expect to find it in Astre magazine.

The first issue is already in production and features incredible cover art by Andrew Hem. We also have exclusive new prints by Audra Auclair, Janice Sung, Chantal Horeis, Feefal, and Eliza Ivanova, with more artists to be announced. Each artist will be the focus of an article featuring additional art and insights into their creative minds.

Hi everyone! My name is Linnea Kikuchi, although here on the internet I'm more commonly known as Feefal. I’m an illustrator from Sweden, and I have a passion for creating artwork that is rich in dreamlike elements, and combines feminine characteristics with a darker, more gritty edge. Another huge interest of mine is creating character designs based around everyday objects – whether it be a lamp, or a mushroom, or a telephone…!
Janice Sung is a Canadian artist and painter. Drawing inspiration from Neoclassical, Baroque, and traditional Chinese and Japanese art, Janice blends human figures with natural elements to create ethereal and timeless pieces.
A graduate of the California Institute of Arts, Bulgarian-born Eliza now lives in San Francisco where she created much of the art on these pages. She produces effortless movement with her sketched lines and animation-influenced dynamic touches. Well-known for her sensitive portraits and figures of women and children, Eliza’s style is distinctive and rich in detail. In addition to a gallery filled with a mix of old favorites, new creations, and bespoke commissions for this book, you will be invited into Eliza’s spellbinding world. Enter her studio to discover her workspace and favorite tools; explore key techniques in step-by-step workshops that help capture some of the exceptional, dynamic movement that infuses her work.
