Master the Art of Speed Painting: Digital Painting Techniques - OUT OF PRINT!

Right off the bat 'Master the Art of Speed Painting Digital Techniques' is a fantastic purchase for anyone interested in this niche but essential component of digital painting. Its greatest strength is its simple and succinct break down of the steps /processes taken to create each piece. This format goes on to cover a great variety of artistic styles of speed painting.Would give the book 4 and a half stars if the format allowed. The only thing stopping it from being a 5 is a minor and hair splitting gripe. In that, yes it is a book but in this day and age many tutorial publications come with a disc contain videos,brushes etc. I feel this book would have greatly benefited from this to actually see the artists at work. While it may not delivery on its premise of 'mastering' speed painting (that comes with practice) it certainly provides probably the best introduction of any non digital tutorial.

As a painter I was expecting more of a painting guide of how to quickly map out a painting, this is more of a guide to get help from photos and your computer. It focuses a lot on using and editing photos, perhaps a little too much, but it still has some good tips I can use when it comes to only painting as well.

With some brush settings tips, step by step workflow and many examples, this book is perfect to start with speed painting. Much better if you already know some basic Photoshop.Beautifully designed and printed! I'd recommend as text book for 2D art students!

There're obvious states about upgrading skill and focusing on what's really important - obvious and yet necessary! For so many times I've wandered why speed painting process goes so hard, why the result needs many iterations of upgrades and fixes - and in this 3dtotal book I've found my answers! And then some - brilliant ideas of skillful artists. There's yet another interesting thing about 3dtotal books and this one in particular. We all know of Youtube tutorials and many other free resources helpful for beginners and amateurs. I've got an idea of why 3dtotal books worth the money - getting this one I knew that material has been gathered with care and deep thought. And as I read (and use) these useful practical ideas I see that I was right counting on the publisher's high quality level. Thanks a lot to all who put their work into this book, it's really helpful and - as usual - very pleasing to work with!

Great reference book to read through with up to date and relevant techniques to learn for the art industry or for any artist that wants to learn an efficient way to quickly visualize their ideas.
