Designing Imaginative Environments is a deep dive into the world of environmental design for entertainment. Many of our favorite movies, animated series, and video games feature breathtaking scenery and locations, but why are those places so special? Where did those design ideas come from, and how do they look so good?
‘No matter what kind of artistic work you’re headed towards, if it takes place in an environment, it needs design and development.’
In this book, veteran environment artist Nathan Fowkes will equip you with all the knowledge you need to excel in this field, from color, lighting, and composition to biomes, weather, and prop design. You’ll find 376 full-color pages packed with demonstrations, tutorials, never-before-seen artwork, and Nathan’s frank and funny insights from over twenty-five years behind the scenes in the creative industry.
